The Pineboards AI HatDrive is an expansion board for the Raspberry Pi 5, featuring two M.2 slots designed for high-performance projects: a Gen2 NVMe slot and a dedicated slot for the Google Coral Edge TPU.
This HAT incorporates an ASMedia Gen2 PCIe switch that allows simultaneous connection of an NVMe SSD (2230 or 2242 form factors) and a Coral Edge TPU module. The NVMe slot offers theoretical throughput up to 10 Gbps, significantly faster than microSD storage, while the TPU accelerates AI inference for models like TensorFlow Lite without overloading the Raspberry Pi's CPU.
