MD02 H-Bridge motor driver based on the BTS7971 chip, capable of delivering up to 17 A. Ideal for controlling high-power DC motors with integrated protections (overload, temperature, short-circuit).

Quantity

The MD02 module is a dual H-bridge motor driver based on the Infineon (formerly Freescale) BTS7971 integrated circuit. Designed to replace classic controllers like the L298N, it offers significantly higher current capacity while integrating advanced protection features.

This module allows control of the speed and direction of two DC motors simultaneously using standard PWM and logic signals. It is ideal for mobile robots, remote-controlled vehicles, and projects requiring high torque.

Specifications

  • Integrated Circuit: BTS7971 (Dual H-Bridge)
  • Supply Voltage (VM): 6 V to 27 V DC
  • Continuous Current Rating: 12 A per channel, peak up to 17 A
  • Logic Level Compatibility: 3.3 V and 5 V
  • Maximum PWM Frequency: 25 kHz
  • Analog Current Detection: Proportional output (typ. 100 mV/A)
  • Integrated Protections: Over-temperature, under-voltage lockout, short-circuit, reverse polarity
  • Control Interface: 2 PWM pins (speed) and 2 GPIO pins (direction)

Pinout:

  • VM / GND: Motor power supply
  • VCC / GND: Logic power supply (5 V)
  • PWMA / PWMB: PWM speed inputs
  • DIRA / DIRB: Direction inputs (High/Low)
  • STA / STB: Channel enable (active high)
  • CSA / CSB: Current sense outputs
  • MA1/MA2 and MB1/MB2: Motor outputs

Note: This module does not include an onboard 5 V regulator for external logic power; a separate supply or external regulator may be required depending on your setup.
