Gesture and Proximity Sensor Module GY-9960 (APDS-9960)

The GY-9960 module features the integrated APDS-9960 sensor, a complete device combining proximity detection, motion (gesture) sensing, ambient light sensing (ALS), and an RGB color sensor. This component communicates via the I2C interface, making it ideal for microcontrollers such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or ESP32, requiring very few pins for advanced functionality.

This module allows you to detect the presence of a hand nearby (up to approximately 20 cm), identify simple directional gestures (up, down, left, right), and measure light intensity as well as colors. It is commonly used in home automation projects for automatic screen or lighting activation, or for touchless user interfaces.
