OV7670 Camera Module offering VGA 640x480 capture via I2C/SCCB interface. Ideal for embedded image acquisition with integrated ISP (gamma, white balance, etc.). Includes mounting stand.

Quantity

The OV7670 camera module is a compact and cost-effective solution for capturing VGA (640x480 pixels) images via a microcontroller. Based on OmniVision's CMOS image sensor, this module integrates the necessary Image Signal Processor (ISP) to generate ready-to-use YUV or RGB frames, significantly simplifying integration into your embedded projects.

It communicates with your board (Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, etc.) via the SCCB bus (I2C compatible) and offers great configuration flexibility. You can adjust brightness, saturation, hue, and white balance directly through the sensor's registers. The module is often shipped with a bracket to facilitate optical mounting.

Specifications

  • Max Resolution: VGA 640x480 pixels
  • Sensor Type: OV7670 CMOS (1/6 inch)
  • Interface: SCCB (I2C compatible) for control, 8-bit parallel or RGB/YUV serial output (depending on breakout board)
  • Supply Voltage: 2.5V to 3.0V (core and IO)
  • Output Formats: YUV (4:2:2), RGB565/555/444, RawRGB
  • Frame Rate: Up to 30 fps at VGA (640x480)
  • Built-in ISP: Gamma correction, white balance, automatic exposure/gain, noise reduction, anti-bloom
  • Field of View: Approximately 70 degrees (diagonal) depending on the lens
  • Operating Temperature: -30°C to +70°C

Note: This module operates at 3.3V logic. For 5V boards like standard Arduinos, a level shifter is recommended for SDA/SCL and clock lines to protect the sensor.
