The Tessel CC3000 is an open-source development board designed for web developers to build connected devices. It runs JavaScript (Node.js) natively and features a built-in TI CC3000 WiFi chip, removing the need for external bridges or complex network configurations.
Powered by a 180 MHz ARM Cortex-M3 processor with 32 MB of SDRAM, the Tessel executes full Node.js applications directly on the hardware. It supports hot-pluggable modules (ambient, servo, RFID, etc.) for easy physical interaction. Each module comes with official npm libraries, simplifying integration with web services like Twitter or standard HTTP APIs.
