Serial 16×16 red LED dot matrix display module with LCD12864-compatible interface. Based on 74HC138 and 74HC595 chips for precise pixel control.
This 16×16 LED dot matrix display module consists of four 8×8 dot-matrix units combined into a single screen. It uses two 74HC138 decoders for row selection and two cascaded 74HC595 shift registers for column control, enabling serial-to-parallel data conversion via clock signals.
The module features an LCD12864-compatible interface, allowing straightforward connection to microcontrollers like Arduino without complex wiring. Operating at 5V DC, it supports daisy-chaining multiple modules to create larger displays for visual projects and indicators.
Arduino code examples are available to initialize the display and control individual pixels via pins D0-D7, CLK, and LAT.
