The BeagleBone Black is a low-cost, high-expansion single-board computer (SBC) designed for developers and electronics hobbyists. Powered by the Texas Instruments Sitara AM3359 ARM Cortex-A8 processor running at 1 GHz, it allows users to boot Linux in under 10 seconds using just a single USB cable.
The board features a comprehensive set of integrated interfaces including HDMI, Ethernet, and USB, along with two 46-pin expansion headers compatible with the "Cape" ecosystem. This allows for easy integration of add-on boards to extend functionality. The Rev C version upgrades memory to 512 MB DDR3L and includes 4 GB of onboard eMMC flash storage, ensuring reliable local storage independent of the microSD card.
