The NCIR unit features a built-in infrared MLX90614 sensor, capable of measuring the surface temperature of a human body or other objects.

Unlike most temperature sensors, this device measures infrared light reflected from remote objects, allowing it to sense temperature without physical contact.

Simply point the sensor at your target to detect temperature by absorbing emitted IR waves. Because it operates without contact, it covers a wider temperature range than most digital sensors! With a 90-degree field of view, it is ideal for determining the average temperature of an area.
The MLX90614 is factory calibrated.
